I've decided to run for Alabama House of Representatives District 22 in 2026. The current incumbent Ritchie Whorton has been in office since 2014 and has run unchallenged since 2018. I noticed on our November Madison County ballot that there were 21 of 24 down ballot races that went unopposed. There were only two Democrats and one Libertarian candidate. This is unacceptable in a democracy. We must challenge the one party system in Alabama! Non- profit advocacy groups tell us that our vote is our voice. We can vote out politicians that don't meet our expectations. This is simply untrue when they run unopposed. Look at the 2026 ballot and choose a race to run in. We must normalize running candidates or we are just a social club!!!
